He was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in November 18, 1957. He passed the HSC Examination from Dhaka College, Dhaka. Later he received B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc degree in chemistry from Jahangir Nagar University , Savar, Dhaka in 1980 and 1982 respectively and secured 1^st class 3^rd and 2^nd respectively. He was a research student in Okayama university for one year (1989 – 1990). He obtained his M.Phil degree from BUET in 1991 and Ph.D degree from Okayama University , Japan in 1993. Later he went to the Okayama university as a follow up researcher for three months in the year 2000. He also availed DAAD fellowship in the Dortmund university , Germany for three months in 2001. He served as  a guest professor for three months in the University of Bern Switzerland in 2002. He has  keen research interest in the field of synthetic organic chemistry.  He has 16 research publications both in national and international journal. Recently he is working also in the field of synthetic organophosphorus chemistry.
